Evi Filippou & inEvitable extended – Pure fireworks

When Greek folklore meets jazz, odd meters start to dance, and improvisation turns into pure joy, inEvitable takes the stage—the award-winning quintet led by exceptional vibraphonist Evi Filippou. Their debut album won the German Jazz Prize in 2023, and since then, the ensemble has captivated both audiences and critics alike.

inEvitable is Evi Filippou’s creative outlet – a musical adventure that breaks apart tradition and reassembles it in exciting new ways. The music is wild, charming, full of surprises – and always deeply entertaining. Evi’s infectious energy lights up not only her fellow musicians but also leaves the audience in rhythmic euphoria.

Und dann das Schlagzeug! Die wilden, durchwobenen Rhythmen und Melodien werden noch bunter und der Bandsound entwickelt sich auf eindrucksvolle Weise zu einem seltsam anmutigen Geflecht aus verspielter Leichtigkeit und prickelndem Nervenkitzel.

Die Band arbeitet dabei viel mit Improvisation und versucht neue Wege des Zusammenspiels zu erkunden und zu erforschen. Ob ein Solist im Vordergrund steht oder die Band im Kollektiv improvisierte Flächen, Stimmungen und Wellen erzeugt: es geht immer darum festgelegte und spontane Elemente zu einem Klang verschmelzen zu lassen, um einen authentischen Augenblick zu erzeugen.
